SUB-FLEX™ is a split bend restrictor that functions like a continuous bend stiffener and can be retro-fit to any subsea cable or riser. Although SUB-FLEX™ looks the same as a standard SUB-VBR™ Vertebrae Bend Restrictor, it’s not.

You get a much smoother resistance to movement and bending (like a bend stiffener) but with the overall strength of a bend restrictor (which has a pre-determined lock-out bend radius). 😮
