Magma Global, the global marine energy business and leader in composite subsea pipe, recently completed a successful North Sea installation using Subsea Energy Solutions equipment.
The project was conducted for end client Boskalis Subsea Services, a subsidiary of the Dutch marine services giant Boskalis, who completed works on a North Sea pipeline as part of a "multi-million-pound" contract awarded to it by Perenco.
The successful North Sea project was the installation of a 6 inch m-pipe® jumper to replace a corroded steel pipe. For the project Magma Global used their unique carbon fibre pipe: m-pipe®, which enables clients to simplify subsea oil and gas architecture and reduce cost.
For the project Subsea Energy Solutions created a bespoke design of 10 ballast modules providing a weight in seawater of 10 kg. The design and material selection of the SUB-BALLAST™ Cable Ballast Modules provided a perfect fit onto the Magma pipe with a design life of 20 years using grey Cast Iron (ISO 185) ballast modules with Super Duplex fasteners and PU Coating. SES also included several quality of life features that enabled easy installation.
